A WoodSmith was established in 2004 and was started as a hobby. I began making items for friends and for myself. It was not long after that this hobby turned into a small business.  I use a lot of hand tools and I peel all the logs used in my business by hand. I try to use as much reclaimed and or recycled lumber as I can, this included dead falls and cut off from the milling operations in the area I live. I live in Rural Scott County TN, and there is no shortage of logs, wood and mills. SO when you get an item from me the thing to remember is that all my items are handmade, rustic and custom. So I may take longer than a furniture store or a larger company but you can rest assured what you are getting is made with sweat and skill.
